This morning, I woke up pretty early and didn't notice what day it was. I had no idea what surprise I would receive just a few hours later.
Suddenly, the phone started ringing, and it was... FEDEX with the printed ZINE. I acted like a child and ran to where the worker was waiting for me.
Finally, at home, I started unboxing with joy and then realized the importance of printing, once again, despite having done it in the past. It never bores me and is always a refreshing activity. So here I am, sharing my thoughts with you, my dear reader.
Why is it so important? Well, let me share my thoughts about printing:
1.- During the editing process, you have to think in terms of visual narrative, choose the best images for the project, arrange them in the right order, and consider rhythm and composition.
2.- Creating a book or a zine is always fun. Well, maybe you don't like photography, or my photography. I understand. I know how the world works... but it's so much fun to create something with your hands and soul.
3.- Print is not expensive, but you still have to think about which pictures you want in your publication. This will give you invaluable insight into your photography.
4.- You will improve your photography technique as well as your post-processing skills. This point is not the most important, but it deserves to be mentioned, in my opinion.
5.- You will become better before taking the images. Why? Because you have to think about what your project will be about.
6.- It is essential to research your topic because you don't want to waste time.
7.- You will gain a better understanding of how your raw files should be processed to ensure proper prints.
8.- Did I mention it's so much fun? You will never be disappointed when you receive your publication. It will brighten your day for sure.
